Planning a Pahalgam trip during the period of March-November has its own fun and delight! Though this gorgeous hill station can be visited round the year, it is during this period of the year, Pahalgam showcases the best of its beauty and grace. The climate remains pleasant with a very less amount of rainfall, and thus allowing you more time in the outdoors.

In addition to this, Pahalgam can also be visited during the summer, monsoon and winter. Summer usually begins by March and continues till June. The weather remains pleasant all through with a temperature range of 11-25 degrees. During this period, the hill station witnesses a huge influx of tourists, who throng the region to complete the holy Amarnath Yatra. Monsoon in this region starts from July and lasts till September end. Though the region do not receive a heavy rainfall, humidity remains high during the monsoons.

Winters in Pahalgam arrives by the beginning of October and bid adieu by the end of February. 01 Betaab Valley:

The reason behind the name of this pictorial valley is the Hindi blockbuster ‘Betaab’ that starred Sunny Deol and Amrita Sinha. Located around 15km from Pahalgam, Betaab Valley is the northernmost part of India and is nestled amidst picturesque meadows, fascinating hills and mountains clad in snow and lush forests.

Tucked between the Pir Panjal and Zanskar ranges of the Himalayas, the valley serves as a popular camping destination among the trekkers to this region. Jotted with the scenic Baisaran and Tulian lakes, the valley has also been featured in several other Hindi blockbusters. And to name a few, there are Aarzoo, Kashmir Ki Kali, Jab Jab Phool Khile, Kabhie Kabhie, Silsila, Rockstar, Jab Tak Hai Jaan and several others.

02 Aru Valley:

Another gem in the Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, Aru Valley is located around 11km from Pahalgam. In addition to serving as the basecamp for most of the trek to the Kolahoi Glacier, this wonderful valley is also known for its enchanting beauty. Perched on the banks of the Aru River; the source of the valley’s name, this quaint little hamlet is fringed with several scenic meadows, magnificent lakes and captivating mountains.
