Lolab Valley Wins Best Offbeat Destination Award 2023: A Hidden Gem Unveiled

The award for Best Offbeat Destination 2023 has been won by Lolab Valley in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District. The award was given to the Lolab Valley in a ceremony hosted by Outlook Traveller Magazine in Delhi.

The Outlook Traveller Magazine showered praise on the Lolab Valley as an ideal offbeat destination. The valley has untouched beauty, meandering rivers, apple orchards and pristine landscapes. The Outlook Magazine highlighted the valley as a hidden gem for its natural splendour and tranquillity.

Secretary of Tourism, Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah expressed his delight on the recognition of Lolab Valley. It reflects the commendable efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir government in the promotion of offbeat locations. He said that this recognition of Lolab Valley would promote the other offbeat locations in the region and with government strategy to spotlight such untapped destinations would attract more tourists to such places.

Dr. Shah highlighted the need to promote offbeat destinations to broaden the tourism growth in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that the recognition of such destinations will bring new opportunities to the local community of the region and also contribute towards sustainable tourism development.

Dr. Shah further added that the award to the Lolab Valley is a testament to the region’s commitment to showcasing its diverse and lesser-explored destination on the map of the territory.
