A religious ground for the Yellow Hat sect of Buddhists, RizongGompa or the Rizong Monastery or the Yuma Changchubling is revered as a paradise for meditation. Located atop a rocky hill, it overlooks the gurgling Indus River and was built by Lama TsulimNima in 1831.

While the religious significance of Rizong Monastery is considered to be of the highest order among the Buddhists, its scenic beauty and charm makes it a must visit tourist destination in Leh Ladakh. Known for its serene and tranquil ambience, it houses around 40 monks and has a cave within its main complex where Guru Padmasambhava used to meditate.
