Basgo Monastery:

BazgoGompa or the Basgo Monastery is the primary attraction of Basgo. Tucked away amidst fascinating rugged mountain trails, this pious monastery is around 7km from the heart of Basgo, and is a treasure trove for the religious as well as history enthusiasts. Once a revered fortress, it seats on a hilltop and showcases the architectural brilliance of the Tibetan culture. Believed to be built somewhere between 16th or 17th century, Basgo Monastery has three temples within its main complex, one of which is dedicated to the Maitreya Buddha.

Basgo Castle:

Also known as ‘BasgoRabtanLhartsekhar’, the BasgoCaslte sits on atop a clay hill, and is one of the prime attractions in Basgo. Steeped with history, this glorious castle was built DharmarajaJamyangNamgyal and his son SingayNamgyal. A three-storeyed clay statue of Maitryea Buddha and the tombstone of DharmarajaSingeyNamgyal are the main attractions of this historic castle.
